General Job Information
- To be eligible for appointment, candidates must have the legal right to live and work in Canada.
- English is the administrative language of Yukon government. Your resume must be submitted in English.
- Candidates who certify may be placed on an eligibility list (if established). The list may be used to fill future vacancies for identical or similar positions throughout the government.
An Exemption is the appointment of a person to a permanent or term position without the use of an open competition process.
Eligibility lists are composed of qualified applicants who were certified for a given role after applying to a previous compeition, but were not chosen for that particular job. Their applications are placed on the list after the competition closes, and the selection committee chooses candidates for identical subsequent positions from the list over a set period of time.
Temporary assignments are a great opportunity for Government of Yukon employees to learn new skills (see General Administration Manual 3 for the Temporary Assignment Guidelines). TAs are positions that usually last one year or less and are within your department but fall outside your normal range of duties, or are in another department or public service organization altogether.
