Employment OpportunitiesRecovery Unit Attendant Reporting to the Supervisor, Detoxification Centre, this position is responsible for supervising clients in their drug withdrawal, assisting in the recovery process and maintaining the daily operation of the Detoxification Centre. The ideal candidate should possess a diploma or certificate in a helping profession (i.e. Addictions, Human Services Worker, Community Services Worker, Nursing Home Attendant or equivalent) with experience providing intake assessments and supportive counseling to individuals (preferably in a Detox setting) combined with experience working in a cross cultural environment and maintaining records. Candidates who have considerable experience working in a helping profession with experience in intake assessments and supportive counseling, with chemically dependant individuals in a Detox setting or in an institutional / residential setting will be considered. Maintaining records and working in a cross cultural setting environment is essential. Condition(s) of Employment: Pre-employment medical, TB Testing, RCMP security clearance, CPR/First Aid Certification. Job Requirement(s): Ability to work rotating shifts.
