Salary : $72,036 to $83,278 per annum

Health and Social Services is looking for motivated, energetic, self starters that can work independently, enjoy the rural outdoors, the pristine wilderness and are committed to ensuring the community is a safe and caring environment in which children and their families may develop to their full potential. The Regional Social Worker makes a difference by working collaboratively and extensively with First Nations Services to deliver a broad range of social services. We require qualified individuals to deliver a number of statutory and non-statutory social services, including intake and investigations; assessment; counseling; family support services; adult protection; foster home studies; delivery of social assistance program; youth justice and home care.  This position is also responsible for staff supervision and consultation with community groups.

  • Bachelor of Social Work from an accredited institution; 
  •  Considerable experience providing child welfare services in a cross cultural setting in combination with  experience in any of the following program areas would be considered desirable:  youth justice, alcohol and drug services, social assistance, home care, or counseling;
  • Supervisory experience;
  • Working in a remote setting would also be desirable experience.

A signing bonus of up to $10,000 may be available

Approved candidates will be provided interview/relocation expenses if required, in accordance with the Interview & Relocation Expense Directive.

Condition(s) of Employment: Security clearance; valid Class 5 Driver’s license (or equivalent).

Job Requirement(s): Willingness to travel.

A one year eligibility list will be established from this competition to fill future vacancies for identical positions in the same department and location.
