Salary : $72,036 to $83,278 per annum

Family and Children’s Services/Regional Services Branches are committed to excellence in the provision of education and professional development of our workforce.  As the Staff Development Coordinator you will focus on developing and implementing a wide range of educational, professional developmental and training programs to staff throughout the Yukon. Duties include assisting with the planning, developing, implementation and evaluation of assessment tools and strategies to assess training and developmental needs and developing training options to meet identified needs, problems, and opportunities including cost benefit analyses of and financial forecasts for proposed options.

As the ideal candidate, you will be energetic, outgoing, well organized, work independently and with a variety of individuals. You will have considerable experience in a range of child welfare services and in delivery of adult education within this context.  Experience providing leadership, mentoring, and training are essential.

  • A Bachelor or Master’s of Social Work or related degree;
  • Certification in adult education would be considered an asset;
  • Considerable experience in delivering a wide range of child welfare services;
  • Considerable experience managing and coordinating projects;
  • Considerable experience providing leadership, mentoring, and training is essential.

Candidates with the above educational requirements, but with limited experience in the above areas may be considered as underfills.

Condition(s) of Employment: Valid Class 5 driver’s license.

A one year eligibility list will be established from this competition to fill future vacancies for identical positions and may also be used for similar positions within the department.

Approved candidates will be provided reimbursement of interview/relocations expenses if required, in accordance with the Interview & Relocation Expense Directive.
