Salary : $25.39 to $29.24 per hour (based on 40 hours a week)

Reporting to the Supervisor, Food Services, the incumbents are responsible for the provision of meals for inmates housed at the Correctional Center and staff, and instructing and monitoring inmate cooks.

We are looking for a mature, organized individual who has a Journeyman Cooking Certificate and experience preparing food services for 60 or more people; knowledge of inventory and portion control; experience supervising people involved in food preparations; and the ability to use a computer (MS Word, Ms Excel, Outlook).

• Experience in a commercial or institutional food services;

• Food safe Level 11;
• WHMIS.

Condition(s) of Employment: Pre employment security and medical clearance, TB Testing, Must obtain health & Sanitation Certificate and First Aid and C.P.R. Certification within six months, must take and pass components of the Corrections Officer Basic Training when directed.

Job Requirements(s): Shift work and week-ends;

A one year eligibility list will be established from this competition to fill future vacancies for identical positions and may also be used for similar positions within the department.
