Job Experience Programs
The Government of Yukon Job Experience Programs Policy - General Administration Manual (GAM) Policy 3.60 [50.74 KB ] and Appendix A [23.62 KB ] cover several employment opportunities for students.
The exception is the Head Start Program which is for people who receive social assistance.
Summer employment
Programs for students in high school and post-secondary institutions, include:
Year-round employment
- For post-secondary students only in co-op programs through the Co-Operative Education Program [465 KB
]
- Work terms are for a minimum of 12 weeks.
- The Co-op program gives hiring preference to Yukon students.
- Approved post-secondary co-op programs are listed by the Canadian Association for Co-operative Education
- Jobs under all programs covered by the Job Experience Programs Policy, are identified by their program name in job postings, on the government web site and in recruitment advertising.
- The terms of reference and conditions of hire vary from program to program.
